Story Viewer Pro

Privacy Policy

Effective 8 October 2026

This policy explains what data the Story Viewer Pro app ("the App") processes and why. The App is operated by Mordechai Zvi, an individual developer based in Israel ("we", "us"). Questions: support@storyviewerpro.com.

In short: there are no accounts and no sign-in. We never ask for your Instagram login. We don't show ads, don't track you across apps or websites, and don't sell or share your data for advertising. Your search history and saved profiles stay on your iPhone. We collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the App.

1. Usernames you look up

When you search for an account, the username is sent to our server, which retrieves that account's publicly available profile details and content through a third-party data provider (RapidAPI). Results are cached on our server for up to 15 minutes so repeat lookups are fast. We don't link searches to you, and we don't keep a history of what you searched.

2. Technical data

Our server runs on Cloudflare. Like any online service, it receives your IP address and basic request details (such as time and app version) to deliver results, prevent abuse and enforce rate limits. Operational logs are kept for a limited period (typically a few days) and are used only to keep the service running and secure.

3. Device verification

To protect the service from automated abuse, the App uses Apple's App Attest. Your iPhone creates a key in its secure hardware and Apple confirms it belongs to a genuine copy of the App. We store only that key's identifier and public key. It doesn't identify you.

4. Purchases

Subscriptions and 7-Day Access are purchased through your Apple ID and processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. We use Adapty to manage subscription status. Adapty receives purchase information (product, transaction and renewal status), an anonymous identifier created for the App, and basic device information (such as device model, iOS version, language and IP address). See Adapty's privacy policy and Apple's.

5. Data stored only on your iPhone

Your search history, saved profiles, the daily free-search counter and your plan status are stored on your device and are not uploaded. You can delete them in Settings → Clear saved profiles & history, or by deleting the App.

6. Reports and blocking

If you report an account or an item, the App sends us the account's username, the item's identifier (if any) and the reason you chose. Nothing about you is attached. Reports are kept for up to 180 days so we can review them and act on them. Accounts you block are stored only on your iPhone.

7. Usage statistics

The App sends anonymous usage events, such as "search started", "paywall shown" or "video failed to play", together with the app version, iOS version, device model, language and your plan type. Events are tied to a random identifier created when you install the App, not to your name, Apple ID or any account, and contain no usernames, searches or media. They pass through our server, which removes your IP address, and are stored with PostHog, our analytics provider (PostHog privacy policy). We use them only to understand how the App is used and to fix problems.

8. Media from Instagram

Pictures and videos are loaded directly from Instagram's content servers, which receive your IP address as they would for any web content.

9. What we don't do

10. Children

The App is not directed at children and is rated for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

11. Your rights

You can ask us about the data described here, or ask us to delete data we hold, by writing to support@storyviewerpro.com. Because there are no accounts, most data is on your device and under your control.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date above shows the latest version; material changes will be noted in the App's update notes.
